Ramblings

Well it once again has been way too long since my last post. To be honest I didn't really know what to write. My life has been really on a roller coaster and I knew if I wrote anything, probably the next day it would have changed. I felt a bit guilty when people would mention to me that they've been checking for updates on my blog and were disappointed to not see any. To tell you the truth, I didn't really think anyone was reading! So thanks to those that haven't given up on me!
Well since the past couple of posts my job hasn't really gotten any better. From one moment I thought I was buying the business, to the next no, than to maybe again etc. Than when you just think it can't get any more complicated it does! Now there is someone else who is possibly going to buy it and has offered me management position if I stay, but now, her buying it looks kind of wishy-washy. I'm not sure when the final answer will be let known. I've been dealing with this since January and it is really frustrating to say the least! Oh-well I'm sure something good will come of it in the end. I have to have faith in that.

Anyway... This summer speeded by so... fast. Every weekend from mid June on we were busy with something and gone from home. It was great, fun and Paul mentioned that he thought this was the best summer of his life. I guess that's really a good thing. We went to the Black Hills for vacation this year and really felt like a tourist. I can't belive how many people had the same plans as we did and ended up there as well. The dollar was so... good that it was an easy decision. We felt the most "touristy" that you could possibly be but it was good. The kids had a blast and we had a good time as well, besides the heat, but it wasn't much different than what everyone in the country was suffering through.

Now the kids are back in school. Brooke is in grade 5 and Bryson is in a 2/3 split. They chose to put him in this class because he's excelling academically and they didn't want to hold his learning abilities back and have him bored. I'm glad they did so. It has been tough for him though socially since there is only 1 boy & 1 girl that came with him from his former class. 6 kids total in grade 2 and the rest are grade 3. I think he's starting to adjust now and we're looking forward to an encouraging year for both kids. Brooke is really excited about her teacher and that means so... much, especially at the "attitude" stage she's at!

The kids are back into Taekwondo and still loving it. It's a great program and we're glad they like it.

Paul's getting ready for another year of craft/art shows etc. to advertise his art. I hope it goes well for him.

Anyway...I think that's enough ramblings. I've updated you enough I think. Anymore would have surely put you to sleep. Until next time, Take Care. Crystal

I'm not getting any better

Well I at this point am probably only writing to myself, since I probably have turned evreyone away from even looking at our blog, since I haven't updated it for almost 3 months.... shame on me! I do check everybody else's blogs from time to time but never have seem to commit a time to talk about us.

Well as most of you know I have been looking into purchasing the business I work for. It has been a long battle which has deffenitely taught me to have patience. I have been waiting for over 6 weeks to hear from the bank on a financial perspective and what they are willing to give me to help purchase the business; without knowing how much they were going to give it has been really hard being able to know if I could even purchase the business with the price asking. After 4 application denials from the bank the 5th one was a positive response and well...
I think I will be a shop owner after all. Everything so far is looking in my favor. I had a glimps of true excitement and now it's back to business. There is so... much to think about and do that emotions can't be part of this purchase. I've tried to be calm, think logically, ask as much help & advice I can get and have the attitude "if it's ment to be, it'll be". Paul & I have been continuoulsy praying about it and that always seems to calm the nerves and keep things in perspective. So that has been the #1 thing that has been occupying my time & mind.

The kids have been busy with Taekwondo and soccer. They got to go to a Taekwondo tournament in Saskatoon and did really well for there first time. Bryson got bronze in Forms/Patterns & Brooke got silver in Sparring. It was really nice that they both went away with something; might have been really tough if only one came home with something. I will post some pictures of them at this tourney pretty soon.

Paul is coaching Bryson's soccer team this year and I'm going back & forth from one kid to the other being there cheering support. I was suppose to assistant coach this year but am glad that I ended up not having to do that; it would have made things more complicated and Brooke would have felt left out I'm sure.
Paul's been still busy with art commissions, trying to get some more prints ready and the occasional horse training. Life never seems to slow up but consistently gets put into fast forward motion. We are truly blessed though. Great health, great family, great friends and an amazing God. What more could we ask for???
Well I think that's a good enough update for now. Until next time....

We're still here!

I can't believe a whole month has flowen by so... quickly and I haven't posted anything, shame on me! I get frusturated when I check into others blogs and they haven't updated for a week, what a hypocrite, I should say, shame on me!

Anyway.... life as usual has been busy. Kids are still enjoying Taekwondo VERY MUCH! Paul is really busy with commission drawings and I am busy at work. Have been working full time lately so no extra time to spare or clean house lately. Paul & I had decided a while back that he wasn't going to take that job that was offered to him that I blogged about a while ago and also that I wasn't going to buy the business I work for. Since than, my boss has convinced me to think more seriously about it and "Think outside the box".
Both Paul & I aren't big risk takers. We've seen enough people make really stupid decisions that have effected there whole lives and we don't want to be one of those, BUT... I also don't want to be the one that won't "Step out of the Box" and take a chance if it logically looks like a good one. They always say if you don't try you won't succeed. My problem is knowing if this is a good decision and if this is the right thing to do for my family. So... many variables, not a lot of time to decide, tick, tick, tick and that's where it's at.  So... if I'm not working, cleaning house, going to sporting events, playing with the kids, I'm thinking about that. Well wait a minute what am I talking about; it's consuming my every thoughts. If anyone could give me some good wisdom or some people that I should talk to, or a book I should read, I'm all ears. Let me hear your thoughts!

I guess that's it for now. Paul is finished drawing for the night and he wants me to watch corner gas with him. What we don't do for our husbands! hahaha! Take Care, Crystal

Kids in Taekwondo

Well the kids have started Taekwondo. (I've attached some pictures. Just click on the pic to get a viewable version. ) They've been in it for about 3 weeks now and are just loving it. I'm just finally now getting some pictures of them in there Dobok (uniform) They look pretty cute in them. Hopefully they'll stick with it and do there uncle Wendall proud since he has his black belt. They are pretty excited to see him & show him how much they've learned.
It's still very cold here. Doesn't seem like we are getting much of a break, but it felt really nice just staying put on Saturday and having a day of relaxation & lots of cuddling. That was Awesome!
Hope your weekend went well too. Take Care, Crystal

Saskatchewan Sundogs

Well today it is about -25 but much colder with the windchill factor. I woke up seeing sundogs this morning and they only get brighter as the day goes. They were so... huge that I couldn't get a picture of the both of them. The following is a picture of one of the sundogs with the sun. Can you tell which is which? The one on the left hand side of the screen is actually the sundog. It looks brighter than the sun. I'm afraid we are in for some cold weather over the next couple of days! Welcome to Saskatchewan.
